The Civil Society for Cancer Eradication in Nigeria (CiSCANEN), in collaboration with the Rosana Empowerment Foundation (REF) and the Langa Women Development Initiative (LWDI), marked the 2024 World Cancer Day with a series of Sensitization Programmes addressing Breast, Cervical, and Prostate Cancer in Bauchi, Bauchi State, Nigeria. I'll Pst. Ejiogu Vitus Chibueze, the Bauchi State Coordinator, highlighted the urgency of combating the rising rate of cancer-related deaths in Nigeria and expressed gratitude to participants for joining CiSCANEN's efforts.   Amb. Grace Maikudi, the Northeast Coordinator, stressed the importance of unity in the fight against cancer, urging attendees to foster collaboration.     Distinguished Resource Persons, including Dr. Mohammed Hassan Garba from the Pahlycon Consultant Hospital Bauchi, Dr. Simon Mafwalal Maju, and Mrs. Nenfwotmwa Mafwalal, delivered insightful presentations. Notable attendees included Executive Directors of various NGOs, representatives from Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), Religious Leaders, Traditional Leaders, and members of diverse communities.   Alh. Sulaiman Ahmed Bashir, the Dan'iyan Bauchi, praised the organizers and called for similar initiatives to reach all communities in Bauchi State.   Presentations enlightened the audience on cancer prevention and management, supplemented by practical lifestyle advice.   Ms. Elizabeth Carr, a cancer survivor and respected media personality, shared her journey, offering hope and encouragement. The event concluded with TB testing and counseling services, highlighting a holistic approach to community health.     CiSCANEN, REF, and LWDI's collaborative efforts, alongside diverse stakeholders' active participation, demonstrate a collective commitment to addressing cancer's impact in Nigeria. Through ongoing awareness, education, and advocacy, these organizations empower individuals and communities in the fight against cancer, striving for a future free from its devastating effects.
