The Enugu State Government has expressed its gratitude to the United Kingdom Government for the establishment of a visa application centre within the state, aimed at expediting visa applications for residents in the state and the broader South-east region.
This announcement was made through a statement released by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Chidiebere Onyia, on a Monday in Enugu.
The creation of this visa application centre aligns with the requests made by Governor Peter Mbah during the visit of the UK High Commissioner to Nigeria, Richard Montgomery, to the Government House in Enugu in June.
In the statement, the government enthusiastically welcomed the news of the visa centre, emphasizing its potential to bolster economic partnerships and cultural exchanges between Enugu State and the United Kingdom.
"The Enugu State Government eagerly anticipates a robust and mutually beneficial relationship with the UK, as this visa centre serves to solidify our ties," stated the release. The government also encourages residents, particularly those in the South-east region, to take full advantage of this opportunity to submit their visa applications within the state.
Additionally, the government reiterated its commitment to enhancing security for both residents and visitors conducting business within the state, emphasizing Enugu's openness for business and investment.
