SKYDNEWS EDUCATION BULLETIN | BAUCHI STATE   In a bold move aimed at revitalizing the education sector, the Bauchi State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) has dissolved all Area Education Officers and School Support Officers across the 20 Local Government Areas (LGAs) of the state. This sweeping reform was announced by the SUBEB Chairman, Alhaji Adamu Mohammed Duguri, during a meeting with Education Secretaries from all LGAs. The decision also affects Arabic and Christian Religious visiting teachers, Early Child Care Development and Education (ECCDE) supervisors, and Library Supervisors under the Local Education Authorities (LEAs). According to Alhaji Duguri, the dissolution is part of a broader developmental strategy aimed at restructuring and overhauling the existing monitoring and supervision framework for basic education in the state. He directed the relevant units within SUBEB and LEAs to ensure smooth transitions while safeguarding all records and ongoing initiatives.   Going forward, only School Support Officers officially designated by UBEC/SUBEB and the LEAs will be recognized. New appointments will be handled by Education Secretaries using newly developed guidelines to ensure standardization, fairness, and effectiveness in the recruitment process. “The aim is to improve oversight, strengthen service delivery, and ultimately enhance learning outcomes in our schools,” Alhaji Duguri emphasized. All affected personnel have been directed to report to their respective LEA headquarters for assessment and documentation.
