The Civil Society Action Coalition on Education for All (CSACEFA) Bauchi, under the leadership of its State Coordinator, Mr. Nicholas Oshojah Afeso, paid a courtesy visit to the Project Coordinator of AGILE-AF Bauchi State at the AGILE Office, Bauchi State Ministry of Education premises. The visit was aimed at fostering collaboration and exploring avenues to enhance girl-child education in the state.
The meeting commenced with introductions of members present, followed by remarks from the BASNEC Chairman, Mr. John Jinjiri, who provided an overview of the purpose of the visit. Highlighting CSACEFA’s overarching mission, Mr. Afeso emphasized the coalition’s commitment to advocating for accessible, inclusive, and quality education across Bauchi State and Nigeria at large.
The AGILE-AF Project Coordinator shared insights into the project’s core mission of increasing girl-child school enrollment. He outlined findings from recent surveys, which revealed several critical challenges impeding progress. These include the shortage of qualified class teachers, lack of essential learning materials, inadequate and dilapidated school infrastructure, and insufficient classrooms to accommodate students. The discussions underscored the shared commitment of both organizations to addressing these pressing issues and advancing education equity. The AGILE-AF Coordinator expressed optimism about leveraging partnerships with stakeholders like CSACEFA to create sustainable solutions and provide every girl in Bauchi State the opportunity to access quality education. This visit marked a significant step toward strengthening collaborative efforts and amplifying advocacy for policies and programmes that will bridge gaps in girl-child education, ultimately transforming communities and empowering future generations.
